Welcome to Tucson!

The week of July 14, I took a week of vacation and relocated, for family reasons, to incredibly beautiful Tucson, AZ. Spectacular mountains surround Tucson, and it reminds me of the verse of Scripture, “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people.” No matter what, He is surrounding us and covering us with his love and care. Even if all else fails in life, He never does!

My employer was gracious enough to allow me to relocate and work remotely. God is truly good! – though I will miss seeing my work friends and church family back in the “Carpet Capitol of the World.” Those of you reading this…you know I miss you!

I have gotten settled in and am starting to adjust to the desert climate. We are in monsoon season, so I have been able to see a few good thunderstorms and downpours rumble through…something to remind me a little bit of back home in Georgia, I guess!

I have found a great church I am visiting, Sabino Road Baptist Church. The believers there are an incredibly loving and welcoming group of Christian folks. I will be playing my violin in the services, accompanying the singing, for the first time tomorrow. Two of the songs are a couple of my favorites, “Our God Is an Awesome God” and “God of Wonders” – fitting for this setting in Arizona, “the Grand Canyon state,” where the beauty of the creation truly testifies to glory of the Creator, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
